[edit] Antikythera mechanism

Its discovery was without a doubt the most important thing to come out of the whole wreck exploration, as the article authored by Price advocated profound changes at existing scientific opinion. Price commented also on its significance more than once. Look at what Arthur C.Clarke had to say about it: "Though it is over two thousand years old, it represents a level which our technology did not reach until the eighteenth century. If the insight of the Greeks had matched their ingenuity, the industrial revolution might have begun a thousand years before Columbus. By this time we would not merely be puttering around on the Moon, we would have reached the nearer stars."-- Arthur C. Clarke in "Technology and the Limits of Knowledge".I am not familiar with the POV enough to know if this breached it, but i dont think the statement "most important discovery of the wreck" was out of place there.

All the other POV's (except one) were not mine(check the history if you want), so i wasnt trying to convince anyone. You could argue that I left them unedited, but i dont know NPOV very well, actually. Neverheless, I'll leave the changes, as they were well meant.

On another note, this NPOV is sometimes a harness, I feel. Not much experience editing WP and I am aware of its necessity sometimes, but articles become dry this way. A literary style does have its uses, even on an encyclopedia.

But i will end with this: This project, WP, is simply awesome and its ideals are as noble as can be. I admire all of those wikipedians, doing what they do, even if sometimes i dont agree with someones. A big "thank you" to the fellow human on the other end of this screen.

Happy editing.
