I removed Charles Kitchener from the article since he does not seem to play a substantial role in the story, at least not as presented here. --Eloquence 16:45 21 Jun 2003 (UTC)

[edit] Redundance

This article is for a very big part identical with John Reginald Christie. I suggest a cleanup.--Kauko56 16:30, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Moved from my user talk page:

(to Eloquence) Hi! Thanks for tidying up 10 Rillington Place. --Arwel 18:50 21 Jun 2003 (UTC)

This article should focus more on the actual controversy over the miscarriage of justice in the case of Evans, which I've tried to do. The individual article on Christie highlights some of this controversy but I've gone into more detail about it here. There is a bit of overlap, however - the Christie article probably needs to be cleaned up as well. Wikischolar1983 (talk) 03:45, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] cleanup-tone

This was tagged for cleanup, citing the tone of the article. I think that was a bit much: it did read as a telling of the story rather than as a neutral, factual article. I cleaned it up a little, what stands is still a factual telling of a well-documented story. It could do with toning down a bit more, and with more references (there are plenty), particularly re the claim to have influenced the repeal of capital punishment. But the article is fundamentally sound and makes no obvious false claims. Just zis Guy you know? 12:11, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Film infobox

As this article is not solely about the film it appears inappropriate to have a film infobox. Someone unfamiliar with the subject would immediately get the impression that the film is the most significant part of this article. A new section or separate article should be written for the film in which the infobox can be placed.

violet/riga (t) 20:19, 23 June 2007 (UTC) This entry seems very much a reprise on the entry for Christie himself. Also: the film gave the impression that Christie was the landlord or concierge of 10 Rillington Place. Perhaps he was the latter. Also: Evans was illiterate, and this made him vulnerable to calculating types like Chrisite. It seems he was as more innocent as not.~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.156.43.8 (talk) 16:27, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

The end of this article states that the site of 10 Rillington Place is now a small garden. This is often thought to be true, but it is not the case.

Number ten stood next to the wall of Bartle’s foundry. On the foundry side of the wall the ground level was lower down than that in Rillington Place. When the foundry and Rillington Place where demolished, it was the dip (or slope) in the ground level that gave rise to the small garden in Bartle Road – because it was easier not to build on the slope. The slope downwards in Bartle Road is clear to this day.

As you face the small garden, number ten was just to the left of it – where a modern day property does stand.

This is especially clear if you study the Ordnance Survey maps of the time and compare them to the present day ones.

A small point – but a Rillington Place myth that pursues to this day. Magicandylives 22:21, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
