†, alternatively known as Cross, is the debut album of the French, electro house duo Justice, first released on June 11, 2007. The album contains previously released tracks "Waters of Nazareth", "D.A.N.C.E.", "Phantom", "Let There Be Light" and "One Minute to Midnight". Fellow Ed Banger artist Uffie is featured on the track "Tthhee Ppaarrttyy". The track "Genesis" was featured in an episode of the television series Shark. The song "D.A.N.C.E." is about and dedicated to Michael Jackson.[1] The band uploaded the album on their MySpace page where it was available to stream, but has since taken it down. The song "Genesis" has been featured on Cadillac Escalade commercials in 2008. In addition, "Phantom Pt. II" was used for a Telus commercial in 2007. "Waters of Nazareth" makes an appearance on the soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto IV by Rockstar Games.

[edit] Reception
Upon release, the album was a financial and critical success, gaining mainly positive reviews from critics. Rolling Stone said, "With loads of melodrama and not a moment of subtlety, Justice define the new-jacques swing."[2] Pitchfork Media stated, "Justice knows how to sequence a dance album to avoid drag and boredom, a skill more suited to hook-friendly architects than a putative demolition crew."[3] It holds an 81 rating (out of 100) on Metacritic.com.[4] The album was nominated for Best Electronica Album, Best Dance Recording ("D.A.N.C.E."), and Best Video ("D.A.N.C.E") for the 50th Grammy Awards. They were also nominated for 6 PLUG Independent Music Awards including "Album of The Year". As a result, Justice's popularity has risen significantly.
