Talk:Īlām Province

[edit] The Image
The image on this page is wrong. It shows the province of Khuzestan instead of Ilam.
All the other provinces have a small map showing their geographic location within Iran. Where is the map for Ilam?
[edit] Ilam -Kurdistan
Ilam is a kurdish city if you see to the history. It is an undivided part of great Kurdistan which is now devided between Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria. It's strange that Wikipedia doesn't mention it. It is a KURDISTANIAN/KURDISH city from its flesh and blood.

- This page is about Ilam province, not Ilam city. Anyway, Ilam is almost entirely inhabited by Shia Kurds, like Kermanshah, thus making it permanetly attached to Iran in language, religion, culture and history. The overwhelming majority of Shia Kurds have no separatist aspirations, unlike Sunni Kurds; as witnessed by the lack of support for the independence movement in Ilam and Kermanshah.
[edit] Encyclopaedia Iranica link
This link:
- Ilam entry in Encyclopaedia Iranica
Was added by a Columbia University IP along with many other links to the site. I have moved it hear in keeping with our external links guidelines so unconnected editors can evaluate its appropriateness. Many of the website's entries are short and may not contain much more than the articles they have been added to. However, this might be a good source even if editors do not consider it an appropriate external link. -- SiobhanHansa 02:02, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- Encyclopedia Iranica is produced by Columbia University and is a scholarly source. It should not be removed from the articles as they are pertinent sources of reference.--Zereshk 12:34, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
