Étienne Allegrain

Étienne Allegrain (1644-1736) was a French topographical painter. Inspired by Nicolas Poussin, he evoked still ambiences and atmospherics bathed in a deep play of light and shade.
His son Christophe-Gabriel Allegrain becamea famous sculptor.
