Die Serie über den Privatdedektiv Garrett gehört zum Genre der Humoristischem Fantasy und spielt überwiegend in TunFaire, der Hauptstadt von Karenta. Nicht zufällig fühlt man sich bei diesen Büchern an einen Philip Marlowe erinnert, der in einer Welt voller Trolle, Riesen, Vampire, Elfen und Zentauren ermittelt.
