To get userboxes, you just have to find one you like and add the code to your userpage. So just say you wanted this userbox on your page:

This user really enjoys dark and stormy nights.

, you would just need to type {{User:Xenocidic/Stormy}} somewhere on your userpage. There's also a good template you can use called {{userboxtop}}/{{userboxbottom}} that you can use to house all your userboxes. Just put all the userboxes in between those two templates. Feel free to drop me a line on my talk page whenever you update this adoption subpage, so I'll see it. I should have more specific instructions on the best way to do that soon. Hrm, I didn't create those userboxes. If you want to see the code for some of the userboxes I'm using, view this page User:Xenocidic/userboxen. Or you can find a lot of userboxes here: Wikipedia:Userboxes. As far as joining WikiProjects, most are as simple as adding the project userbox to your page. Some you may need to actually sign up for. • Whenever you update this adoption subpage, please add a single period on my talk page in my Adoptee Subpage update notification section. This way I'll know to look for changes. I'll try to do the same at your talk page when I respond. By the way, on weekends,and weeknights, my response time will usually not be as fast as during the weekdays but I'll try to check every couple hours. Cheers, xenocidic (talk) 00:29, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
• Suggestion regarding edit summaries. One hallmark of a great editor is usage of edit summaries, at the very least, with every edit to a mainspace article, and ideally, with every single edit - including edits to your own user page (which can prove helpful if you're ever trying to find a specific change you made) as well as talk pages (a simple "re" is often enough). A useful setting is under Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (note it does not prompt on changes to your own userspace, you'll have to remind yourself to do this). • No problem. I'm here when you need me. To get into a personal sandbox, just click this link User:Yzzug/sandbox and "create the page" (or it might take you right to an editing window.
