I am an Anthropology major at The George Washington University (GWU), also studying music, Judaic studies and journalism.
[edit] Current Life
I currently reside in Washington, DC, though I will be abroad the entirety of Fall 2007. Through a program called Semester at Sea, I will be taking a full course load on a boat and visiting Mexico, Hawaii, China (both the mainland and Hong Kong), Japan, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Egypt, Istanbul, Spain, and Croatia.
[edit] Education and Background
I was born in Tucson, Arizona and grew up in Tucson and for a short time, Jerusalem, Israel. I am a Conservative Jew and speak Hebrew conversationally and read and write with a moderate level of proficiency. I attended Tucson Hebrew Academy as an elementary and middle school student. I then studied at University High School for two years, the performing arts magnet program at Tucson High Magnet School until 2002 and then graduated with Honors in 2003 from Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan in theatre arts as a National Merit Finalist. Prior to attending GWU, I studied in the conservatory musical theatre program at Syracuse University.
[edit] Interests and Politics
I am a liberal Democrat. Political issues important to me include social and economic equality, the fight against poverty, gay rights (including marriage), universal healthcare, serious and complete overhaul of US foreign policy, protection of the environment, and the global fight against AIDS. My other interests include political and social activism, and medicine, especially emergency medicine and surgery.
[edit] Certifications
I am a certified Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT-B) and hold an alcohol manager's license in the District of Columbia, as well as TIPS certification.
Upon graduation, I intend to pursue a career in NYC as an actor, singer and dancer in musical theatre. I also hope to pursue a secondary career either in medicine or broadcast journalism, and hope to raise a family in Israel.
