[edit] Additional Societies
Members of Societies of Apostolic Life do not take vows (simple or solemn) like religious orders and religious congregations. Instead they make promises or some similar form of commitment to their society. Some examples:
Pallottines - The Society of the Catholic Apostolate (SAC) (founded by St. Vincent Pallotti)
Vincentians - Society of Saint Vincent de Paul
Paulists - The Missionary Congregation of St. Paul the Apostle in the United States (CSP) (founded by Isaac T. Hecker)
Jericho Benedictines, as British group which works mainly with alcoholics, drug addicts and homeless young men.
