Occurrence of the term “signal transduction” The total number of papers published in each year since 1977 containing the specific phrase “signal transduction” in either their title or abstract section, are plotted. These figures were extracted through an analysis of the papers contained within the MEDLINE database. The total published since 1st Jan 1977 up to the 31st December 2007 is 48,377 of which 11,211 are review papers
