Shuddhi

Shuddhi is Sanskrit for purification. In Hinduism it is a part of worship. It also sometimes refers to reverting to Hinduism after converting from Hinduism to another religion.

During the intrusion and slavery period of India of 1000 years, many of Hindus were converted into Muslim and Christians. The conservative part of Hindism kept the doors closed to revert these converted people.
But Swami Shraddhanand (Mahatama Munshiram) of Arya samaj, started accepting back these people by Shuddhi Andolan (Movement). For this act he was murdered on 23 December, 1926.
