Salah Zulfikar was an Egyptian military policeman. He was born on January 18, 1926 in Al Mehala Al Kobra where his father brigadier general Ahmed Mourad served as police commissioner. He was the fourth of five brothers. The militant style was dominant in the family, as the father the Police brigadier general Ahmed Mourad had a truly remarkable impact on his sons in terms of commitment, loyalty, integrity, informality and self-reliance. His elder brothers Ez El Din Zulfikar and Kamal Zulfikar were already students of the Military Academy whilst Salah, who was greatly inspired by his father, chose to join the Police academy. He graduated from the Police academy in 1946.
He was a skillful officer known for his professionalism and high moral standards, besides being an athlete, he won the national award in boxing and riflery (small guns) and he was an active player in the academy football team.
In 1949 Salah became a professor officer at the police academy; he was in charge of the unit of fresh students. He had a saying "the unit of fresh students is a manhood factory".
Under his commandment, thousands of students graduated, all deeply inspired by him as a commander.
In 1951 he volunteered in the Police war in Ismaileya which was later celebrated as the annual festival for the Police. He received the badge of honor for his patriotism. In 1956 he initiatively undertook 19 students of the police academy to volunteer as commandos in the canal area after the capture of Port Said during the 1956 aggression. For this, he received the honor medal for patriotism by President Gamal Abd El Nasser.
At this time, his brothers Ez El Din Zulfikar and Mahmoud Zulfikar worked as film directors. During his free time he used to attend film shooting. In (1945) Ez El Din Zulfikar, his elder brother offered him a role in film EYOUN SAHRANA; he had to get a temporary permission from the ministry of interior, which was headed at that time by Zakareya Mohye El Din. He made two other films with temporary permissions.
As Salah Zulfikar was fascinated by acting he applied for an early pension which he was later granted by President Gamal Abd El Nasser for his excellent career service.
