Macedonia

Macedonia is the name of two areas in Europe
- In history it was the ancient kingdom where Alexander the Great came from.
- The Republic of Macedonia, Greece calls this country the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, and this is the name used by the UN and NATO, but not all other countries.
- Three of the 13 districts ("peripheries") of Greece have Macedonia in their name
- East Macedonia
- West Macedonia
- Central Macedonia
