My name is Kyoko. I am a woman, and I am a little older than 20 years of age. I come from Montréal, but now I live near San Francisco. My father is from Japan, and my mother is from Québec. I am proud of my background. I speak English fluently and French pretty fluently. I speak Japanese very badly.

I began to use Simple English Wikipedia in February 2007, and my edit count can be seen here.

I also write for the English, French, and Spanish versions of Wikipedia. My other accounts include the English and French Wikisources, English and French Wikiquotes, Simple English and French Wiktionaries, Wikimedia Commons, and Meta. Other Wikimedia accounts that use the name "Kyoko" might have been made by someone else. If those accounts do bad things, please block them if you can and tell me about it at English Wikipedia.

Some things that interest me

• Pulmonary hypertension or PH, a disease that I have. It is a serious disease that can be fatal. It affects the lungs and later on, the heart. Among its symptoms are breathing difficulties, dizziness, and fatigue. The symptoms get worse when exercising or working hard. When I am just sitting down, you can't tell that I'm sick. I look fine, and I'm pretty fit except for the disease. The disease makes it hard for me to run, walk long distances, or climb stairs. Medicines help though.

• Lung transplants and heart-lung transplants, which are the only ways to cure my disease. I wrote the first version of the lung transplant article on English Wikipedia. I also wrote about related topics on the main English Wikipedia, like the lung allocation score and the ventilation/perfusion scan. I'm also interested in organ transplants in general.

• Cystic fibrosis or CF. Someone with CF once went to my school. CF is a common hereditary disease that can be fatal. CF causes breathing difficulties, lung infections, sinus infections, poor growth, diarrhea, and possible infertility.

• Literature, especially Quebec literature and French literature. What can I say? I love to read.

• Anime. Currently my favourite series on air is Bleach. My favourite series of all time is Fullmetal Alchemist. I also enjoy Blood+, InuYasha, and, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

• Music. I like many kinds of music, but I don't like rap or hip-hop very much.

• translating content between French Wikipédia, English Wikipedia, and Simple English Wikipedia.

• improving articles related to medicine, especially in the areas of pulmonology, nephrology, and cardiology. I believe very strongly that regular people should have health information that they can understand.
