Forrest Gump is a novel that was written in 1985 by Winston Groom. A film was made from the book. Both tell the story of Forrest Gump, a man from Alabama. Forrest Gump is not very smart. Forrest watches many historical events as they happen, but he does not know how important they are. The film starred Tom Hanks as the title character. He has an IQ of 75 which causes him disadvantages during his childhood. But although he is handicapped he makes his way through life. He made a good friend Bubba in Vietnam, and the shrmiping company from the film led to the creation of the real life "Bubba Gump Shrimp, Co."
