Bulbasaur is a green and blue animal from the Pokémon story and video game series. It is blue with darker blue spots. To attack enemy Pokémon, it can make green vines come out of its body and go around its enemy, as well as firing leaves out of its body and running into the enemy (Razor Leaf and Take Down/Tackle attacks). It cannot talk, but it makes a noise sounding like Bulba. It is the first Pokémon in the Pokédex and National Pokédex. Bulbasaur evolves into another Pokémon called Ivysaur once it has been trained enough. It next evolves into an even stronger Pokémon called Venusaur once Ivysaur has been trained up even further. In the Pokémon story, Ash has a Pokémon in his team called Bulbasaur.

Bulbasaur is a Grass-type Pokémon, and is strong against Water, Ground, and Rock Pokémon. It is weak against Fire, Flying, and Ice Pokémon though. The player can get Bulbasaur if they play the video games Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, Pokémon Fire Red, or Pokémon Leaf Green at the very start. If they get Bulbasaur at the start, their rival (main enemy) in the game will get Charmander, a Fire Pokémon.

Bulbasaur has a closed flower on top of it, which opens when it changes into Ivysaur, and then fully flowers when it turns into Venusaur. As Bulbasaur changes, it gets bigger. Bulbasaur gets better as it evolves, making it more powerful against other Pokémon. [1] Bulbasaur is the first Pokémon in the pokedex.
