Bloc Party

Bloc Party are an English rock band. In 2005, the band released their first album Silent Alarm. Their second album, A Weekend in the City was released on February 5, 2007 in the UK and February 6 in the US.
Kele Okereke (singer and rhythm guitarist) and Russell Lissack (lead guitar) made the band in 2002. They were called a lot of different names, for example "The Angel Range" and "Superheroes of BMX". In 2003, they settled on Bloc Party, and were joined by the drummer, Matt Tong. Their bassist, Gordon Moakes, joined after answering an advertisement in NME Magazine.
They became popular after handing their album to the singer of Franz Ferdinand and Radio 1 DJ Steve Lamacq.
