Any other AZ fans? There is so little info on him around the internet... any updates? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.193.51.176 (talk • contribs).

[edit] Five Percenter?
He stated in an interview he isn't religious (nor 5%) at the moment. He also wears a cross in the video for The Come Up, should he still be in the group?
On the video on his website, he wears a necklace with what I'm assuming is Muhammad on it. It might just be a fashion thing. Brunbb 07:59, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Birthday
I heard on the radio that AZ's birthday is March 9, though I'm not sure of the year.--Tainted Drifter 07:53, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cult following?
I know he's got a few intense fans, but does cult following really make sense here? Read the definition of a cult... Fans of AZ's music hardly qualify as cult leaders.
I think the phrase "cult following" is generally used in a way that's distinct from the meaning of "cult." Like various campy B-movies are said to have "cult followings" but that doesn't mean there's an actual cult based around the movie; just that they have a small but highly dedicated (maybe obsessive) fanbase that sticks around over time.
I'm not sure that meaning really applies to AZ either though.

[edit] E-40 Beef?
Anyone know that happened and should it be added? Brunbb 10:59, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
back in 1996, AZ was interviewed in a magazine and had said that he doesn't thing E-40 can rap and that E-40 doesn't deserve the respect that he gets. E-40 fired back at him in october of that year on his "hall of game" album with "record haters". 40 basically dissed AZ and said that "I was selling tapes out my trunk while you were runnin around drinkin Similac." and "all in your fake a-- videos knowing damn well you ain't have no mils". AZ never responded, as to why, i'm not sure. it would've been good lyrically but oh well. i take it they squashed the beef by now.

"Well, The Format album has leaked and i must say.. It is a fantastic album. AZ comes to the plate as one of the most consistent artists in hiphop and he delivers.. YET AGAIN. Undoubtedly though, this cd will be slept on by the masses who don't appreciate hiphop in its purest forms. Standout tracks on the album are: 'I Am The Truth', 'Sit Em Back Slow' ft. M.O.P, 'This Is What I Do', 'The Format' and 'Game of Life'. The only problem with the album is that AZ has a habit of dropping particularly short albums and this is no exception.. It comes in at just over 42 minutes, which is his shortest album to date". Read up on WP:NPOV

[edit] Nas similartie
When I heard Lifes a botch I thought the whole thing was by Nas cos AZ sounds so similar to Nas. Lifes A Bitch Is a great song and its an inspiration to me but The MICK BOOGIE remix is much better you can get it on this [[1]] That song is the best dont know bout the others on that album though --Big-piggy 17:24, 13 January 2007 (UTC)SPOOKY CALIBER
Wow, your perception and tastes are pure ass.--Tainted Drifter 10:39, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
How can you get AZ and Nas confused? AZ has a higher pitched voice than Nas.
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:A.W.O.L..jpg
I found Image:A.W.O.L..jpg and noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. Someone will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If it was obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If there are other files on this page, consider checking that they have specified their source and are tagged properly, too. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Year of Birth
So, who changed his birth year to 1973? On the album "Pieces of a Man" he stated that he's 26; this album came out early 1998, therefore, there's no way that he was born in '73. What, just because Nas was born '73 that means AZ had to be born the same year? People will never stop so closely associating those two despite them not even collaborating much in recent years.--Tainted Drifter 21:47, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Life's a Bitch
I really just want to know is how he was able to get on the track. Did Nas have friends in Brooklyn? Did he just pick AZ up off the street? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.226.110.159 (talk) 20:10, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
That's a good question, and I was wondering the same thing. I'm an avid listener of both of their music, and I've never heard either one of them mention how they met, or anything. I remember on the track "Death Anniversary" Nas said: "What if I told you AZ didn't exist? And I played it like a ventriloquist...?". I sometimes wonder if that's true...--Tainted Drifter 05:15, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
