[edit] Merge proposition
Both articles are of the same organization --Chrisdab 02:57, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Disagree. Although there is some overlap (and the literature on the topic often blurs the distinction between the two), they are distinct organizations. —Morning star 04:31, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Right. They are not the same organization. Zawahiri is the leader os Islamic Jihad and only met the leader of AL-Jama'a Al-islamyya once. Cpuz 08:38, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, I can concede that they are seperate groups, but you will not know that by reading these articles on wikipedia. The articles should be improved upon so that the wording doesnt suggest that they are the same group. --Chrisdab 05:04, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
New article Ahmed Refai Taha about a former or maybe current leader of al-Gama'a. LDH 01:36, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] JI has same Arabic name
Jemaah Islamiya or JI, of SE Asia, has the same Arabic name as the Egyptian outfit. I recommend using the "Gama'a" spelling for the Egyptian one, because that is how the word is pronounced in Egypt and North Africa, but not elsewhere. LDH 03:32, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
