Agyias/Agiou Konstantinou Street

Agyias Street or Agiou Konstantinou Street (Greek: Odos Agyias or Odos Agiou Konstantinou), is Patras' major street running from Iroon Polytechneiou up to Notara Street (elevation: about 30 to 40 m). The street have been served with the GR-8/E55 (Athens - Corinth - Patras) and the GR-5 with the GR-48/E65 since the 1970s. Its total length is approximately 1 to 1.5 km. The street runs within the Gulf of Patras and contains two lanes with mostly parking spaces.
Residential buildings with older and modern architectures covers the area with a few farmland, shops as well as stores and other services sporadically. Much of the streets intersecting are named after the major rivers of Greece, the examples are seen below.

The street was paved in mid to late 20th century. The area became the national highway in the 1970s. Farmlands dominated the street until housing developments with six to eight-storey residential properties were added at a high capacity between the mid-1970s and the 1990s. A railway crossing with the OSE's SPAP line is 600 m west of Notara. Street lights were also added in 1996 at the two ends of the intersection. The railway bars were reconstructed in the early-2000s.
