The Earth will experience 2,366 solar eclipses.
Due to the precession of the equinoxes, γ Cephei will be the pole star between 3000 and 5200

- The novel 3001: The Final Odyssey is largely set in 3001 and the years following.
- The Fox animated sitcom, Futurama is set largely in the 4th millennium. The series' start was actually set on New Years' Eve, 1999, then skipped forward to New Years' Eve, 2999. The series remained 1000 years ahead of modern time.
- Ulysses incurs the wrath of the Gods of Olympus by slaying the Giant Cyclops (Ulysses 31)
- The album Deltron 3030 takes place. The album is by the hip hop supergroup Deltron 3030, composed primarily of producer Dan the Automator, rapper Del tha Funkee Homosapien and Kid Koala
- The stop-motion film Live Freaky! Die Freaky! is set in 3069.
- The beginning of the novel Venus on the Half-Shell is set in 3069.
- The events of Titan AE take place.
- The events of the anime series Trinity Blood take place in the latter half of this century.
- According to the song "Year 3000" from Busted and the Jonas Brothers, they meet their "great-great-great granddaughters" by means of a "flux capacitor."

- Samuel R. Delany's novel Nova is set in the 32nd century.
- The "current events" of the MechWarrior: Dark Age expansion to BattleTech's timeline occur in the thirty-second century, following the collapse of the HPG network in 3132.

- Both the Sonic the Hedgehog comic book and its Saturday morning cartoon in the United States take place in the 33rd Century, beginning around the year 3235. This is conjectured because Sonic is established as age 16 in the beginning; he was five years old in 3224 when the main enemy, Dr. Robotnik, is established in the cartoon as having seized control of the planet Mobius. In the comic version, in issue 124, they specifically say that Mobius was once, indeed, Earth.
- Bucky O'Hare lives and operates in the 33rd century.

- Around 3505 the second wave of human expansion from Earth into the rest of the galaxy will begin, also according to Asimov.
- "In the year 3535 . . .Everything you think, do and say is in the pill you took today," according to the Zager and Evans song, "In the Year 2525."

- In the year 3781, according to Walter Miller Jr.'s A Canticle for Leibowitz a second nuclear holocaust destroys the Earth.
- Nostradamus prophecies would extend to the year 3797.
- 3798 is the year in which Michael Wang's "The Cosmos" mostly takes place.

- When calculating the year in the game with the beginning of NC, in the game EV Nova, the year is 3955 (It could be possible that the date of the game was influenced by the Planet of the Apes film series).
- Tribes 2, while mainly set in 3941, its training missions take place from 3944 to 3950.
- The film Planet of the Apes is set in the year 3978, while its first sequel, Beneath the Planet of the Apes, is set in the year 3955. It is possible that the first film occurs in an alternate timeline to the subsequent four.
- In the Challenge of the Superfriends episode Conquers of the Future, the Legion of Doom travels forward in time from the 20th century to the year 3984. Before being defeated by the Superfriends, the Legion of Doom is able to conquer not only Earth, but the entire Milky Way Galaxy as well.
- The year 4000 is the time for the classic comic book Magnus, Robot Fighter created by Russ Manning. In this series, all of North America has become a single great city named North Am, with buildings commonly reaching a mile (1.6 km) in height.
- The events in the cartoon series Thundarr the Barbarian take place in the year 3994.
