+ I think the Czech TV Crisis can be cleaned to be more objective and especially I am sure that specific citations and linking of the text would help it really much. Okino 12:33, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

+ The account as described in the article is based mainly on the actually produced Czech TV broadcasts during the crisis as the source of the information. Each side of the dispute reported their own side of the story on air during the active battle for control of the air waves that occured. Viewers at the time, including me, saw the TV picture switching back and forth from one studio to the other, with each side accusing the other of broadcast piracy. Both the recordings of the Czech TV news segments produced by protesting reporters, including those that people couldn't tune into unless they had cable because of the jamming by the new management against whom the protesters demonstrated in the streets, and recordings of the so-called "Bobovize" reports produced by Bobosikova exist as public record in the Czech Republic and can be obtained from Czech Television archives. This can enable people who understand Czech to see for themselves what TV viewers in the country were seeing at the time and what brought so many to street demonstrations shouting "Svobodu! Svobodu!" ("Freedom! Freedom!"). Video footage of the demonstrations was broadcast by both sides as well as by private television stations in the Czech Republic and to an extent foreign media, though possibly with some bias.

("Bobovize" is a term coined at the time by the TV employees during their sit-in strike, but is now a new everyday slang expression used in Czech to refer to the propaganda pieces in question and similar material.)

To balance the article and in an attempt to avoid any perception of a lack of objectivity, I added links at the bottom of the page both to news stories and varying commentary in English about the crisis. The links present differing views. I invite anyone who feels they can add or rephrase anything without removing the actual information itself to do so if they feel their revisions will make it "more objective." I admit that the article is not perfect, but considering that this important part of Czech Television's modern history was absent from this article on the TV network previously, I feel its inclusion is important.

Of course a lot more could be added to the CT article, and not just about that crisis.

+ I've added new links and cleaned up some others.

+ New revisions: Okay. Having authored the original section about the Czech TV crisis that is the subject of this dispute, I have now revised it in an effort to make it more objective. I welcome further revisions anyone would like to make as well as comments and suggestions. Thank you for helping with the links and the image. User:Putzina. (I just registered my account today, having created the section anonymously.)

+ If someone still feels the Czech TV crisis is not neutral enough, they should make it "better" instead of just tagging it. Why point out that something is "badly written" if you're not willing to help the author make it better? What's the Wikipedia policy about removing POV tags, etc if you don't think they are needed any longer?

I dont want judge if the section is NPOV or not, I just would like point out there is some unencyclopedic formulations (e.g. either by the rebel Czech TV employees or by Jana Bobošíková's team depending on whose side you were on) and use of word jamming is not proper, bacause if I check it in article Radio jamming, it says: Radio jamming is the transmission of radio signals that disrupt communications that decrease the signal to noise ratio. There wasnt this case in Czech TV crisis. --Li-sung 08:37, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

+I was in the Czech Republic at the time and tuned into the evening news, like so many other people in that country, and watched as the newscast I was watching was suddenly interrupted unexpectedly as it started by a different transmission that cut in, one with Bobosikova and Hodac sitting in a different and undisclosed studio that it was later learned was not even located at the Czech Television headquarters. Their broadcast was beamed at higher power in order to interrupt and "jam" the other broadcast. That is the accurate meaning of the verb "to jam" in the English language. Use of that term is a factual description of what happened, not a point of view. It would be a point of view if I had said it was a good or bad thing. That is a subject of debate. Since the country was split at the time between those Czech TV viewers who considered the rebel journalists' broadcasts to be legal and those who felt that only the so-called "Bobovize" was legal, saying "depending on whose side you were on" is also an accurate description of the situation and gives the reader a sense of what it was like for viewers at the time, regardless of whom they supported.

+In an attempt to clean it up, I have removed the reference to "pirate broadcasting." Thanks for suggestions, even if I don't agree with all of them. I welcome more. --Putzina

+I am really sorry I could not write the text myself when I tagged it, but I feel a little proud that the discussion went on to make the text better. Still have some complains and hope I will be able to add more as soon as I have some more time. Please, feel free to remove the tag "neutrality is disputed", or I will do soon (with better net connection), but I am sure that we should keep a closer look to this article for a couple more days. Thanks and sorry again. --Okino 19:39, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

+I'm very happy about the discussion and hope feedback will lead to a consensus regarding neutrality. Perhaps you could write the Czech version of the article and then I could translate any additional important information from the Czech article and add it to the English version that I originally wrote to make it more complete. There's a lot more to the story. The question is how many more details do we want to add, and how long should we make the final? I would love to see a legally used actual Czech Television screenshot of the text that's on my t-shirt. It would look better than the amateur photo of the back of the Stop Bobovize protest T-shirt, but I guess the T-shirt is better than no image of it. --Putzina
