St. John's is the capital of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is also the largest city in the province, with 99,182 people living there in 2001.
There is a large university in St. John's, so the city is home to many students.
Close to St. John's is Cape Spear, the easternmost point in North America.
