Howard Walter Florey (November 28, 1898 - February 21, 1968) was an Australian scientist who won the Nobel Prize for Medicine for his study into penicillin. He was born in Adelaide, South Australia. He went to the Collegiate School of St.Peter and the Adelaide University. In 1921 he went to England as a Rhodes Scholar studying first at Oxford and then at Cambridge.
A suburb in Canberra, Australia, was named after him.
