The Cyrillic alphabet (pronounced 'sih-ril-ic') is an alphabet used by the languages Russian, Bulgarian, Ukrainian, Kazakh and in what was Yugoslavia.It was required by Serbia(who was head of Yugoslavia) for all of the Yugoslav nations to teach this alphabet in school. This is the Cyrillic alphabet in print and handwriting:

The Cyrillic alphabet was invented by Greek monks named Kyrillos (Latin Cyrillus) and Methodios in the 9th century. It is based on Greek alphabet.
