Anthony Trollope (24.4. 1815 – 6.12. 1882) bio je jedan od najuspješnihjih, najplodnijih i najuglednihjih engleskih romanopisaca viktorijanske ere. Neki od Trollopeovih najpopularnijih djela, kao Chronicles of Barsetshire, bave se fiktivnom grofovijom Barsetshire; ali je također pisao i romane koji su se ozbiljno bavili političkim, društvenim i drugim sukobima njegovog vremena.
