ધવલ સુધન્વા વ્યાસ આ મારૂ પુરુ નામ છે. એક ગુજરાતી હોવાને નાતે નામ અને અટકની વચ્ચે પિતાનું નામ લખવામાં મને જરા પણ સંકોચ નથી, બલ્કે ગર્વ છે. મારો ભાષા સાથેનો પ્રેમ તો ઘણો જૂનો છે, પણ વિદેશની ધરતિ પર વસ્યા પછી વધુ ગાઢ થઇ રહ્યો છે. મારો જન્મ અમદાવાદ શહેરનાં ખાડીયા વિસ્તારની નાના સુથારવાડાની પોળ (ખરેખર તો નાનો સુથાર વાડો નામ હતું)માં થયો હતો જ્યાં મે મારૂ બાળપણ વિતાવ્યું અને પછી વસ્ત્રાપુર જઇ વસ્યા. ૨૦૦૫ ની આખરમાં હું લંડંન આવ્યો ત્યારથી અહીં જ છું. મારી લેખનની ભાષા ક્યારેય સારી નહોતી, ખાસ કરી ની અક્ષરોમાં હું ગાંધીજીને પણ સારા કહેવડાવતો હતો અને જોડણીની ભુલો તો ખરી જ. લેખન નું મારુ જ્ઞાન તથા ભાષા પ્રત્યેનો પ્રેમ અને રુચી વધરવા માટે મારા એમ.એસ.સી. (M.Sc.) ના પ્રધ્યાપિકા (Professor) ડૉ. ભારતીબેન દેશપાંડેનો હું હંમેશા રૂણી રહીશ.
My full name is Dhaval Sudhanva Vyas. being a Gujarati, we use father's name as our middle name, and I am proud to still practice that. I always loved my native language Gujarati (ગુજરાતી), which increased after arriving on the foreign land of UK. I was born in Nana Sutharvada ni Pol in Khadia, Ahmedabad and later moved to vastrapur, Ahmedabad. I came to UK in late 1995 and since then am sattled in London. Though I loved gujarati adn had a vast vocabulary, my writting was not very good, especially I used to commit many gramatical, including spelling, mistakes and my handwritings were at times next to impossible to read. I will always remain indebted to my M.Sc. teacher Dr. Bharatiben Deshpande for improving my affection to the lenguage as well as knowledge of grammer.
