[edit] Selected articles that GTBacchus has worked on
(or sometimes looks after)
- Abortion - More dispute resolution than writing here.
- Blondie (comic strip) - I began this article, and it has done pretty well since then.
- Charles Chilton Moore - This one was fun to research.
- Cocaine - the most vandalized article on my watchlist.
- Damiana - My first taxobox, I believe.
- Discordianism - An important article to me, I've done various kinds of work on it.
- Doll - Started this one, would like to groom it to an FA one day.
- Edwyn Collins - Wrote the stub.
- Exploitation film - Another one I began, and should soon revisit with an eye to citations.
- Graffiti - I did a lot of structural work on this a long time ago, and it became an FA, but then fell.
- Hipster - I did a lot of writing early on; this article erodes quickly for some reason.
- Jimmy Castor - Wrote the stub.
- Los Cerrillos, New Mexico - Made contributions that I really need to source, now that I've learned about WP:NOR.
- Louis F. Budenz - Discovered while stub sorting and fleshed out .
- Mason-Dixon line - I helped shape the opening paragraph, and learned a thing or two about content disputes here.
- Ralph Abraham - Wrote the stub.
- Robin Askwith - Wrote the stub.
- Santa Fe, New Mexico - used to live there, helped flesh out the history section.
- Squonk - my first Wikipedia article, based on research I'd done for h2g2.
- Towel - I started this, and have continued to look after it. h2g2 is again to thank.
- Triangle and Robert - Wrote most of this, almost lost it on AfD, but it was determined to be an historically notable webcomic.
- Turneraceae - Written along with Damiana, being the containing family.
- War on Christmas - Since renamed. I participated in the fray around Christmas 2005. What a mess that was.
- Xavier Roberts - Wrote the stub.
[edit] Wikis that GTBacchus edits
Wikipedia is just one of the family of wikis on the Internet. As the technology develops and becomes more well known, more people will learn to use different wikis for different kinds of research. GTBacchus has accounts, under the same user name, at three different wikis. Wikipedia is one; here are brief descriptions of the other two. There is some overlap among the three, (for example, each has an article about MySpace), but each has a very different approach, and is appropriate for different types of searches.
- Aboutus.org - Domain directory. This wiki aims to have a page for each domain name on the internet. Freely editable, there's room for the owners of the domain to self-describe, as well as space for reviews written by any user. As it grows, it could become a very valuable resource for determining quickly who controls a website, and what people say about it. A very young wiki, it's already a good place to send contributors who would like to write about their website from a non-neutral point of view, or those who wish to document websites that are excluded from Wikipedia under WP:WEB. (Aboutus.org)
- Encyclopædia Dramatica. ED is a wiki that combines satire with documentation of internet culture, including memes, personalities, and "drama", i.e., personal conflicts that are played out online. The tone is darkly humorous and parodies sanctimonious intolerance. Definitely "NSFW", this wiki is offensive to many, hilarious to some, and one of the best places to learn about the in-jokes that breed online, and which are not considered suitable for Wikipedia articles.
