Viktoras Muntianas (born November 11, 1951 in
Marijampolė, Lithuanian SSR, Soviet Union) is Lithuanian politician, former Speaker of the Seimas.
Viktoras Muntianas was born in Marijampolė in 1951. In 1968 he finished school in Marijampolė. In 1973 enrolled to the Vilnius Civil Engineering Institute and in 1978 finished it. From 1986 to 1990 he was first deputy of Kėdainiai municipality chairman. Later on he started his business carrier, in 1994 he became manager of Ūkio bankas filial in Kėdainiai. After two years he became vice-president of Vikonda concern.
Soon afterwards Viktoras Muntianas renewed his political carrier. On 1997 he became mayor of Kėdainiai, 2004 was elected into Seimas. Viktoras Muntianas had been the Speaker of the Seimas from 2006 until April 1, 2008 when he resigned after having been suspected of corruption.
