Talk:U.N. Spacy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I've got to tell you, I find the translation "U.N. Spacy" to be...well, "spacey", if you know what I mean.
Well, what would a "space navy" be other than a "spacy." It seems to me that terms like "spacy," and "spaceman" (instead of seaman) sound odd to us because of the very fact they are science-fiction. Perhaps in the future, if/when space travel is far more widely spread, these terms will be seen as normal and everyday.
--- Shouldn't "spacy" (lit. "space forces") be a portmanteau (or just a blend) of "space" and "navy"? What has "army"/rikugun got to do with it? -- creamyhorror, June 08 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.186.197.41 (talk) 18:46, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
