In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1566.

On Suchá Hora, a 1225 metres high mountain at 18°59'45" E 48°44'20" N , there is a guyed tubular mast used for FM-/TV-broadcasting. This mast is taller than 300 metres and belongs to the tallest architectural structures in Slovakia. Close to the mast, there is an architectonic interesting telecommunication tower. [1]
