Shahar is the god of dawn in the pantheon of Ugarit. He is the twin brother and counterpart of Shalim, the god of dusk.
Shachar (שחר) is the Hebrew word for dawn, see Strong's H7837, but in Isa 14:12 it appears to be used for a deity. Jerome in his Vulgate (Isa 14:12) translated Lucifer in this verse, from the Septuagint Greek heosphoros (ἑωσφόρος).
Compare also the Hebrew Zohar, "radiance", the name of the central book of Kabbalah.
