Scott Derek Severin (born 15 February 1979 in Stirling, Stirling) is a Scottish professional football midfielder currently playing in the Scottish Premier League for Aberdeen. He is a relatively versatile player and has played as a defender and as a striker for Aberdeen and Hearts.

Severin started his career at Hearts where he was a highly rated youngster and made his debut against Motherwell.

Scott opted to join Aberdeen in July 2004 when his contract expired. There had been talk of a move to Everton and Valencia but he opted for Aberdeen as Jimmy Calderwood had acted swiftly to get his signature. He has played for Scotland 14 times since making his international debut against Latvia in 2001.

After a successful start to his Aberdeen career, Severin was again linked to English Premiership side Everton, although such speculation was rejected by Aberdeen. He signed a new, three-and-a-half year contract at Pittodrie in December 2005.

On the final day of the 06/07 season, Severin drilled in a stunning goal which secured a victory over bitter rivals Rangers and gave Aberdeen a return to European football for the forthcoming season. This was a massive achievement for the club as they hoped to relive their glory days of the 1980's.

In July 2007 he was handed the captaincy of Aberdeen, succeeding Russell Anderson.
