[edit] Career
Delafonte's first band was The Deevs, which recorded a Top-100 hit single "The Gorvs end" in 1984. Within two years, Delafonte went solo. In 1985, he won the grand prize in an English songwriting competition which was a recording session with famed producer Phillip Karr. With Karr at the helm, Delafonte recorded yet another single "Why?" featuring Don Johnson on backing vocals
Delafonte would eventually move to Miami. He released his first album Finding Hawke on his ill fated McBurnie Records record label. His self-titled debut album was released in 1987 and featured two standout singles Catching The Fire and Fighting the Decade". One of these, "Fighting the Decade", became the theme to the soundtrack for the failed and unreleased Pilot for Nightwolf which featured a modified vehicle bearing a resemblance to Streethawk.
Towards the end of the 1980s, his work would continue, including writing a track called "Hip to be square" for yet another failed series The Highwayman
