"Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" is an AC/DC song appearing as the tenth track on their 1980 successful album, Back in Black.
[edit] Song
The song is a slow blues song, written as a filler for the Back in Black album by Angus and Malcolm while the rest of the band was off drinking. It follows in the vein of most AC/DC songs, in that is starts with an intro, followed by alternating verses and a chorus, peaks at a guitar solo by Angus, and then repeats the chorus to the end of the song.
According to Johnson, the lyrics in the intro were improvised on the spot.[1]
The lyrics can be interpreted as an answer to critics of Blues, Rock and Roll, or Metal music. All of these types of music have been criticized for either their excessive volume, or inappropriate lyrics.
The song was used in a 2006 Nike ad caimpaign for their Air Max 360 shoes.
