Quarona is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Vercelli in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 90 km northeast of Turin and about 50 km north of Vercelli, along Sesia River. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,297 and an area of 16.0 km².[1]
The municipality of Quarona contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Doccio and Valmaggiore.
Quarona borders the following municipalities: Borgosesia, Breia, Cellio, and Varallo Sesia.
