Prem Tinsulanonda International School is a K-12 day and boarding International school which opened in August 2001 in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. The campus is 90 acres, and the student body numbers over 400 with over 36 nationalities represented. In February 2002, the School was authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization, Geneva, to offer the International Baccalaureate IB Diploma Programme for Grades 11 and 12, the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme for Grades 6-10 and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme for Kindergarten to Grade 5.

[edit] Location and facilities
The school is situated 10 kilometres north of the city of Chiang Mai in the Mae Rim District. The school caters to both day students from Chiang Mai and to boarders from all over the world. A comprehensive boarding programme offers students academic support and cultural, outdoor and sporting pursuits. Teachers are recruited internationally for their International Baccalaureate experience, and most teachers live on campus. The campus has an Olympic-sized pool, tennis courts, international standard cricket pitch, gymnasium, weight and fitness room, professional standard art studios, Design & Technology suite, outdoor amphitheater, veranda style canteen, multi-media library and wireless internet facilities.

The school is named after General Prem Tinsulanonda (Thai: เปรม ติณสูลานนท์), a former Thai military officer and Prime Minister of Thailand from 1980 to 1988. He now serves as the chief advisor of the King of Thailand, Bhumibol Adulyadej. He played a key role in the 2006 Thai coup d'état as well as the appointment of the post-coup Parliament and Interim Government of Surayud Chulanont.
