[edit] Fair use for Karen Dotrice
The image Image:Poppins Kids.jpg is being linked here; though the picture is originally copyright, I (RadioKirk talk to me 23:12, 29 January 2006 (UTC)) believe this image is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:
- It is a low-resolution screenshot of a motion picture or accompanying material;
- No free or public domain images have been located for this purpose. While public domain images have been located for the subjects of the article, none is recent, nor do they adequately illustrate the points in the subjects' careers that are discussed in the accompanying text;
- The image does not limit the copyright holders' ability to market the motion picture or any home video in any way; and
- The image is being used for informational purposes only, and its use is not believed to detract from the subjects or their work in any way.
[edit] Licensing
This image is a screenshot from a copyrighted film, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by the studio which produced the film, and possibly also by any actors appearing in the screenshot. It is believed that the use of a limited number of web-resolution screenshots
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. |
