Pacific Sunwear of California Inc (also known as PacSun) is a shopping mall retail store that sells surfing,snowboarding, Moto-X, and skateboarding clothing and accessories for teenagers and young adults. It was originally based in Newport Beach, California, United States. The current corporate offices are now located in Anaheim, with distribution centers in Anaheim, California and Olathe, Kansas.

The store started as a surf shop in 1980 under a different name, selling surfboards and wax. The first mall store opened in 1981 in Santa Monica Place in Santa Monica, California. By 1987, they had a total of 21 stores. In 1993, the company was operating 60 stores and went public. Currently, there are 859 stores and 76 outlets. [2] More recently, the company has opened up to more styles than just surfwear, adding sweatshirts, jeans, accessories, often associated with skateboarding culture to keep up with current trends. Pacific Sunwear used to carry shoes, but due to a low profit margin, shoe sales were discontinued in all stores in April, 2008. Popular clothing brands sold at the store include Adio, Alpinestars, Ambiguous,Ando and Friends, Arnette, Big Black, Billa Bong,Blah Blah Blah,Bull Head, Burton, C1RCA, Cobian, Columbia Sportswear, Converse, Dakine, DC Shoes, DCMA Collective, Disney Couture, Duffs, DVS, Electric, Element, eS, Etnies, Ezekiel and Famous S/S. The company's stock is publicly traded on the NASDAQ under the symbol PSUN.

The company also had shoe store called One Thousand Step which they closed due to poor sales. The company also operated a chain of urban apparel stores, called "d.e.m.o."; after an unsuccessful search for a buyer of the chain, the company closed all 118 store locations.
