[edit] Challenge Week
Challenge week was a productive week all about teamwork, improving the school and having fun. It took place between the 17th and 21st of July 2006 which was the final week of the school year. Before the week, all students were issued with a booklet documenting the different challenges, these ranged from drama productions, painting and computer modding to name a few. Challenge week was run and organised by Mr John Traynor, Deputy Headmaster. The computer modding was a huge success despite some problems and a name was the selected from a hat with that person winning a computer.
A second Challenge week took place between Thursday 12th and Wednesday 18th July 2007. This time, the event had a strong multi-cultural theme. Pupils took part in more than thirty different challenges covering a wide range of activities. The event culminated in a large concert, showcasing some of the highlights of the week. The concert featured a fashion show, dancing and music from pupils who took part. Some sixth form students (those who helped organise the concert) performed music at the concert, playing such songs as T Rex's 'Deborah' (performed by Michael Whetnall and Calum Roach), Deep Purple's 'Black Night' and Procul Harum's 'A Whiter Shade of Pale' (performed by Michael Seal, Michael Walsh, Mark Johnson and Peter Milligan).
