The Northern red anemone (Tealia felina), is a marine animal found in the north Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. The sea anemone lives attached to rock and animals backs rock on the seabed from the lower tidal limit down to a depth of 100 m. It is one of the largest North Atlantic anemones, growing up to 20 cm in diameter when the tentacles are expanded, but only 5-6 cm broad when closed up. It can be grey-blue or green in addition to red. It eats small fish and crustaceans by firing groups of stinging cells into the victim, which poisons and paralyzes them. People can get a rash from the anemone's tentacles.
