Nigel Lindsay left the City in the late 1980s to train as an actor at the Webber Douglas Academy.
In theatre, he has appeared opposite Sarah Lancashire as Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls at the Piccadilly; at the National in two award-winning productions, Dealers' Choice by Patrick Marber and The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh; and on Broadway in Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing which won three Tony awards. He has played lead roles at the Donmar Warehouse, Royal Court Theatre, Almeida Theatre and National Theatre and has worked with directors and writers such as Max Stafford-Clark, Richard Wilson, Howard Davies, Patrick Marber, Terry Johnson and Martin McDonagh.
In television, he appears as Levi in the second series of the HBO/BBC production of Rome, and has been seen in New Tricks, Tunnel of Love, Frances Tuesday, Murphy's Law, I'm Alan Partridge, Midsomer Murders, Armando Iannucci Show, Brass Eye, Between the Lines, A Dance to the Music of Time, two-handed commercials with John Malkovich and Jean Reno and three series of corporate videos with John Cleese.
In film, he had a small role in Woody Allen's Scoop and played Ewan McGregor's boss Ron Baker in Rogue Trader.
