[edit] Professional Career
Mangold was one of two offensive linemen taken by the Jets in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft, along with offensive tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Mangold had a great rookie season, allowing only 0.5 sacks, only committed 3 penalties and made all the line calls. Mangold was so impressive he garnered some rookie of the year talks, an honor that is not usually mentioned about centers. He currently wears #74 as the Jets' starting center.
