New Village Press

New Village Press is a not-for-profit book publisher based in Oakland, CA.
New Village books address topics in the field of community building, such as community-based arts, neighborhood commons, and green collar jobs. The Press crosses boundaries between academic and informal education, and focuses on successful examples of grassroots community building.[1]
Authors include award-winning cartoonist Keith Knight,[2] neighborhood commons activist Karl Linn, and community-based arts scholar Arlene Goldbard. New Village Press was recognized as the Best Small Publisher in the East Bay, 2006, by East Bay Express.[3] New Village Press is a national publishing project of Architects/ Designers/ Planners for Social Responsibility (ADPSR), an educational non-profit organization founded in 1982.[4] Consortium Book Sales & Distribution distributes their books in the US and Canada.[5]
