New Mexico Senate

The New Mexico Senate is the upper house of the New Mexico State Legislature.
There are 42 members of the Senate. Each member represents roughly 43,300 residents of New Mexico. All 42 seats are up for election every four years, and the next election will be in 2008.
The New Senate Pro Tempore is Timothy Jennings as of January, 2008 after Ben D. Altamirano passed away 1 month before the session.
