Route 35 is a state highway along New Jersey's Atlantic Ocean coast. It runs from the entrance to Island Beach State Park in Berkeley Township to an intersection with Route 27 in Rahway, New Jersey. In South Amboy and Sayreville, NJ 35 overlaps U.S. Route 9.
The Victory Bridge is a highway bridge that carries Route 35 over the Raritan River.
35 travels through the middle of Mounmouth County. Near Ocean County 35 has a big intersection with Route 34, Route 70 (at the Brielle Circle) and Route 71. It goes over the Brielle Bridge into Point Pleasant.
From Seaside Park to Ortley Beach, Route 35 follows the right-of-way of the former Pennsylvania Railroad. When the route splits into separate roads for north and south between Ortley Beach and Mantoloking, the southbound side follows the former railroad right of way.
The Thomas A. Mathis and J. Stanley Tunney Bridges are a pair of bridges that carry Route 37 over Barnegat Bay, passing through Toms River Township and a small piece of Berkeley Township, before ending at Route 35 in Seaside Heights.
