Neile Adams
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Neile Adams (born July 10, 1936) is an American actress and singer/dancer who made more than twenty appearances in films and television series between 1952 and 1991 before being temporarily sidelined by a longterm first marriage to Steve McQueen, who ultimately insisted that she not work. Adams' influence with agents helped McQueen establish his own career, however. Adams is also interviewed in practically all of the numerous video biographies of McQueen and is notable today as McQueen's first and most longterm wife (1957-1972), and in 1960 she also co-starred with McQueen and Peter Lorre in a memorable episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents based on Roald Dahl's short story "Man from the South." Recently, Adams has appeared in a one-woman cabaret show.
