National Museums Liverpool

National Museums Liverpool, previously known as National Museums and Galleries on Merseyside, comprises several museums and art galleries in and around Liverpool, England. All museums and galleries in this group have free admission.

National Museums Liverpool's origins go back to 1851 and it currently comprises seven different venues, some outside Liverpool itself. The Lady Lever Art Gallery, for example, is in Wirral. It holds in trust multi-disciplinary collections of world wide origin made up of more than one million objects and works of art. The organisation holds courses, lectures, activities and events and provides educational workshops and activities for school children, young people and adults. Its venues are open to the public seven days a week 361 days a year and all exhibitions are free. National Museums Liverpool has charitable status and is England’s only national museums group based entirely outside London.

- Lady Lever Art Gallery
- Merseyside Maritime Museum
- National Conservation Centre
- Sudley House
- Walker Art Gallery
- World Museum Liverpool (formerly Liverpool Museum)
- International Slavery Museum
The former HM Customs & Excise National Museum is now closed but will re-open in May 2008 as the 'Seized' gallery within the Merseyside Maritime Museum.
Opening in 2010/11:
The Museum of Liverpool is due to open in 2010/11: the Museum of Liverpool Life has been closed to make way for it.
