The unicameral National Assembly of Niger is the country's legislative body.
The current National Assembly, formed following elections held on 4 December 2004, has a total of 113 members. 105 members are elected in 8 multi-member constituencies using the party-list proportional representation system. The remaining 8 members are elected in special single-member constituencies to ensure the representation of national minority communities. All members serve five-year terms.
