[edit] NEXTEL Open?

Do you guys think that the NEXTEL Open is enough of its own entity to warrant a seperate article? I'm kind of on the fence and would like to know what other people think. Recury 13:20, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

  • I don't think so myself. I think that it can be propertly entertwined into this article. Over at the Budweiser Shootout page, I was able to easily merge the Bud Shootout Qualifier information. Doctorindy 16:00, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Well, on second thought, maybe we should do it, I'm finding a lot of info that could really bulk it up. I'll get back to that decision after I do a little more research. Doctorindy 16:04, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
      • Well, a year later I'm finally getting to some of the holes in this page. The information is becoming more and more easy to access, so it should be filled in real soon. I'm going to try and fins some information on the minor events too. Doctorindy 15:36, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
  • CORRECTIONS & CLARIFICATIONS
    • After research, there ends up there were 2 sprint races. The "No Bull 25" was a qualifying race for the Winston Open from 98-00. From 2000-2002, the No Bull Sprint was a last-chance race for the Winston. Two new boxes were added for the race results of those two. Although there are a few small holes here and there, all the winners are accounted for. Research ongoing.Doctorindy 18:36, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] No Bull Sprint

This is written: In 2000, after The Winston Open, a 16-lap "No Bull Sprint" was added to after The Winston Open. The winner of this race would also advance to The Winston.

I don't think that is entirely accurate, at least partially. The No Bull Sprint was used in at 1998 as a 25-lap qualifying race for the Winston Open. They used to have normal one-lap qualifying for the Winston Open, but that I guess got boring, so they had twin 25-lap race on Friday night. In 1998, winners were Jeremy Mayfield and Jimmy Spencer. More research is needed, and is on-going. Doctorindy 16:00, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:NextelChallenge.JPEG

Image:NextelChallenge.JPEG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
